We had a late lunch around 3 p.m. on a Saturday at Nate's West End, and it was the perfect spot to relax. The restaurant was quiet, which worked out great for us since we snagged our favorite table by the bar. Our waitress, Nanette, was friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. We ordered the chicken-fried chicken and the chicken-fried steak--both came in huge portions and were absolutely delicious. The food was flavorful and satisfying, just what we were hoping for. If you find yourself in Galveston, I highly recommend checking out Nate's West End. Great food, great service, and a laid-back vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

Been coming here 15 yrs. I was worried when they had a change of owners awhile back but the food and service still good. Shrimp Poboy has a lot of shrimp and love the steak fries seasoning. Always nice a quiet on a weekday. We love Coopers also!

Awesome!! This is the second time we've eaten there and the first time with our dog, Beaux. They have patio seating and brought my Beaux a bowl of water right away. Our server was Tabitha and she was wonderful. The manager was hands-on too! I ordered the Crab Cake starter and Fried Okra which was perfect. My guy ordered the Double Burger and WOW! He is a healthy eater and that burger was too much and my goodness the flavor! Like the perfect homemade burger if you were really good at it. There was enough to share with Beaux too! If there is ever a contest for the best burger in Galveston, Nate's would win! On our vacation every year we go down to Terramar Beach. We've tried a couple of restaurants down that road and didn't have anything good to say about them, Nates is our stop now. I would absolutely recommend Nates!

Decent. We stopped for lunch on the way back to Galveston on a Saturday around noon. We were seated promptly and our drink orders were taken and brought quickly. We shared the Chicken Fried Chicken. We chose Mashed Potatoes and a Side Salad as our sides and added a Caesar Salad side as well. The salads were 'okay'. Bagged salad on the side salad. A bit over-dressed on the Caesar. The Chicken Fried Chicken was the stand-out. We enjoyed it. The Mashed Potatoes we're a bit thin but okay. The cream gravy was good. All and all - a decent lunch and we'd stop here again.
